New Orleans: Your to-do List

New Orleans, New Orleens, New Orlee-ans, Nawlins, The Big Easy, The Crescent City

French Quarter, Garden District, Uptown, Midcity, LakeView, Gentilly, Bywater, Lower 9th Ward and Algiers to name a few unique areas created  by the diverse culture of New Orleans.

New Orleans is a city for tourism because it “speaks” to everyone. NOLA boasts a colorfully storied rich 300 years! It is rich in traditions from Second lines, Mardi Gras, burial ceremonies, and FOOD!  I believe its diverse ethnicity and cultures have led to a rich atmosphere full of traditions that everyone can relate to on some level.  Southern Hospitality is alive and well along with the old saying ” I’ve never met a stranger”.

Because of the diversity the choices for entertainment are never-ending. Ask five people where to get the best burger in town you will get five different answers and so it goes.

Awesome ! Glad to hear you are coming this way! I didn’t write about the touristy places- those are standard. Cafe du monde is a must! Pat o’ briens is a must, during the day with kids. At night without. Commanders palace if you want a fancy meal. – old school 7 courses. Like I said in the post. Ask anyone and you will get a different answer. Anywhere you go you won’t go wrong. The insectarium is close to the aquarium and the river. I don’t suggest any place like bubba gumps or hard rock. Mothers is good for fried chicken- usually a line around the corner. Not my favorite. I don’t go there for fried chicken though! Feel free to ask about any places. Cafe du monde is close to the French market a must go for shopping- vendors ready to deal. Knock offs etc.
